a single story cabin, rustic and simple in style like much of Milton, comprimised of three rooms: a living area, a single bathroom and a bedroom. the main living area and kitchen is all one room: a loveseat and armchair crowd around a fireplace. The fire is lit, but it's kept to a fairly calm and small flame. the place is warm, at least. but certainly not as toasty as one might expect. it's hard for Kieren to really... know how hot it really is. the bedroom is behind the fireplace, meaning the room does remain warm enough to sleep in.
things of note include the fact that the mirror fixed to one of the walls has been covered with a towel. mirrors in the bathroom and bedroom are in a similar state. we're not going to talk about that.
in addition, the kitchen table is covered in an array of art materials Kieren has collected during his stay in Milton. basically anything he can get his hands on: paints, pencils, charcoal. it is also covered in sketches and drawings and paintings in various states of progress — using whatever paper he can get his hands on — even old newspapers, books and sheet music. they're all portraits, several of them are of people from Kieren's home: his parents, his sister, his friend Amy. there's even some of fellow Interlopers from around the town that Kieren has met or seen around.
