"I am a... Partially Deceased Syndrome sufferer
and what I did— in my untreated state... was not my fault."
content warnings: suicide / teenage suicide ; zombieism ; zombie-related cannibalism
Kieren Walker of Roarton, Lancashire — was a talented art student, living at home with his parents and younger sister, Jem. Shy, socially awkward but deeply kind and caring. He was eighteen when he killed himself. He felt relief.
Less than a month later, in an event which became known as The Rising, Kieren and many other dead returned to the land of the living. It was a one-off event. In that time, the undead terrorised the living — killing and devouring all that they came across, held back mostly by the living who banded together to create the Human Volunteer Force.
Halperin & Weston, a drug company, were able to create the drug Neurotriptyline. It could rebuild brain cells in the dead. Through the capture and treatment of the undead — they were rehabilitated and released back into society, to their families — hereby referred to as Partially Deceased Syndrome or PDS sufferers.
Only not everyone is so pleased to see people like Kieren return — including Kieren himself.

in character
physical contact: he's a little stand-offish at times, trying to conceal the fact he's undead due to his now cooler body temperature. that being said, he's not opposed to being affectionately manhandled by others. he's just quite bemused by it.
flirting:
why would you want tohe's fairly shy and awkward, likely to laugh it off but unlikely to flirt back.romance: this will require a great deal of cr building, especially if partner is living. slow burn is ideal.
fighting: he's a pacifist by nature, but is willing to fight back against being attacked first.
injury/death: kieren can now only be killed via a head/brain injury. he can be injured elsewhere, but no longer feels pain and now cannot heal. discussions are preferred for injuries / death is no-go unless that's the nature of the thread.
triggers: enclosed spaces make him incredibly scared/anxious; his neurotriptyline can also induce vivid hallucinations/flashbacks to the time in his untreated state - something which greatly distresses him; being outed as PDS-sufferer

does kieren eat/drink? kieren cannot consume regular human food of drink. his body no longer works as it should and anything ingested is now toxic. should he eat/drink something, he will either be physically sick or it will go straight through him - which is very unpleasant. that being said, kieren can ingest brains.
does kieren bleed? yes and no. his body still has some kind of blood within it - but it's black in colour.
can kieren turn my character if he bites them? no. this isn't the zombie you're looking for. in kieren's canon, zombieism isn't treated like a virus - more of a freakish act of nature. the only ones who returned were those already dead, and it was a one time event.
what happens if kieren doesn't have his neurotriptyline? he returns to his untreated, rabid state - meaning he loses all sense of who he is and is simply driven by the desire to consume.
